Different things disappear in an ordinary hostel for students. Residents at Hickory Road do not panic, this is nonsense, because a book, a bag or a lamp are not very valuable things. You can easily forget about them. However, the famous detective Hercule Poirot believes that the events are more serious than they seem at first glance. After all, the list of stolen looks rather unusual. After a while they find the corpse of one of the inhabitants. It was murder, disguised as usual suicide. The case, which began with innocuous little things, takes a very serious turn. Will detective save the situation, like usual? Will he manifest himself as a genius snoop? The children's verselet, what gave the title to the novel, sounds really ominously. The atmosphere of the novel perfectly emphasizes this.
